Kingsport, TN | Neighborhoods

Preston Forest

Contains: Crown Colony

Preston Forest and its sister neighborhood, Preston Woods, used to be one large family farm but now are two neighborhoods bisected by Hwy 11W. In fact, Preston Forest happens to be part of the Daniel Boone trail and also the location of his famous tree carving! What used to be the edge of town, Preston Forest (to the north of Hwy 11W) is a residential subdivision of mostly 3,000 to 5,000 square foot detached, single family homes built primarily from the 1960s through the 1990s. Neighbors enjoy beautiful landscaped yards with mature trees. The neighborhood lies between Beechnut Drive and New Beason Well Road and is a wonder at Christmas with festive lights along the streets and sidewalks. Neighbors are very involved and maintain a community group online.
